Our network organises tri-annual events which take place at partner institutes across the UK. These events are designed to put the spotlight on areas of specialist IGT research, stimulate new ideas and promote collaborations. The network offers its members funding support for travel to these events. EPSRC Image-Guided Therapies UK Network+ meeting | March 2017

Sheffield Town Hall meeting

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for the next in the series of tri-annual IGT Network+ events, hosted by the University of Sheffield at Sheffield Town Hall.

The programme includes:

  • Welcome from the network’s Principal Investigator Sebastien Ourselin
  • Annette Bramley, Head of Healthcare Technologies at EPSRC, will give an update from EPSRC including the Council’s medical imaging strategy
  • Zeike Taylor, Theme Lead for the IGT Network+ intervention planning and real-time computational update theme, will explore ‘Biophysical modelling for treatment planning, guidance, and simulation: mechanistical or statistical (or both)?’
  • Reena Sidhu, Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Sheffield, who will share her thoughts on capsule endoscopy and its potential as the future of all endoscopy of the GI tract
  • Julian Gunn, Honorary Consultant Cardiologist at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, will discuss computer modelling of coronary artery blood flow from the angiogram
  • Kawal Rhode, Professor of Biomedical Engineering at King’s College London, discussing his experience of commercial translation for IGT technology

The event will feature research presentations from a clinical and translational perspective, and project outlines from the awardees of the latest round of IGT Network+ Proof-of-Concept Call funding. A new round of funding opportunities will also be announced at the meeting.

The meeting will be held in Sheffield Town Hall, a ten minute walk from Sheffield rail station.
